After repeated viewings, thoughts on Mona.
I think she was just misunderstood.
shareLena Olin said in an interview a while back that at the end of the film, when she tells Jack: "I never liked you. Even when I screwed you...you didn't get to me for a second," that she thought Mona really liked Jack, but she was just saying that stuff for the purpose of getting a reaction/pushing his buttons.
Unfortunately, that's pretty much all Olin said about the film. Are there any interviews out the stars/director/screenwriter discuss this film?
she was a psychopath.....at first i thought she was a transvestite?
shareMisunderstood? She's probably one of the most direct, impossible-to-misread characters in any movie. There's no pretense about her, no hypocrisy. She enjoys what she does. Is she nuts? Sure. But no one thinks otherwise.
"Do you realise that Otto spelled backwards is Otto?"

Yes, but what about Otto himself. Does he know?
shareShe is the ultimate "Femme Fatale"; the personification of sexual desire and sociopathic behavior.
shareexcept she had a voice like a man and a bad dye job...so not "my" personification of sexual desire. socio? yeah for sure, but not sexy imho
that's what she said

Right. The kind of roles I thought were reserved for Linda Fiorentino. Not that I would complain about this casting choice, though ...
No way. If she were a man, I wonder if you'd think that.
She's an evil sociopath who is out for herself, and plans to replace the current "Don" with herself. A typical aspiration for sociopathic evil people involved with the mob.
She was as she appeared. And she said what she meant.
She did have great hair and a great body, as well as being in great physical shape.

As opposed to a benign sociopath?
