Is this installment the most fun in the series?

I find it to be. Especially with the film’s mix of sci fi, horror and action adventure.

Of course. I can't imagine anyone thinking that any other entry is superior to the first in any way.

Jurassic Park is a genuinely great film, a true classic. The rest of the franchise ranges from "pretty good" to "bad."

It's awesome how much Jurassic Park's reputation has grown over the decades. I remember when it first came out, it seemed to live in the shadow of Jaws, with a lot of critics saying it was very good but not up to par with the 1975 Spielberg classic. Audiences seemed to agree, too, as back in the late 90s, memory serves the film had an IMDB rating of around 7.2 (I distinctly remember being surprised that Scream actually had a higher IMDB rating at the time) while Jaws was around 8.3.

Now it's considered a bona fide classic and one of the ultimate summer blockbusters, and it seems to rank higher among moviegoers now on Spielberg's filmography than Jaws.

I've always known it to be a beloved film and it certainly was a theatrical blockbuster, though I can't say I've ever paid any attention to how its score has stacked up against Jaws's specifically.

While I love Jaws, JP has definitely always been on another level for me. It's such a well-made, fun, imaginative, heart-filled movie. Love it.

Having grown up with it makes all the difference. I am sure a kid growing up with the not as good Jurassic World (Jurassic Park 4) instead of this film would probably say the same thing.

I grew up with this one, but nothing beats the scene where the babysitter gets drowned by terodactlys.

I'd say that's about right.. It had a blend of lightheartedness when it needed to be unlike The LOST WORLD: Jurassic Park which was a pretty Dark and violent movie, all things considered.. The Dude who was a victim of a tug o war between 2 T-Rexes was very unfortunate
