How much time does the movie span?
shareCurious about this myself. I always thought it was a few weeks between the bus/train crash and the end.
shareI believe it was 2 hours and 10 minutes
shareSpitballing but let's say the murder is on day 1, investigation and trial about a year, three weeks to transfer to the state prison, and I'd guess a month to the film climax.
shareI'm not sure a month is right. Felt like a long while between his escape and the end. I'd say it's more like 3 months. Judging from how cold it was when he got to Chicago and that there was snow, and that it's St. Patrick's Day towards the end, I'd say 3 months.
shareJust watched again, when he calls Nichols about knowing who did it, Nichols said Lentz (sp?) was killed in a car crash last summer. So this was what, spring time, so 9ish months since the previous summer. Though this would have nothing to do with when the train derailed.
shareI was thinking the TC meant more from the time the movie's credits end which is about when the bus wreck/train wreck happens to the end. Which I guessed was 3 months. They didn't really make it seem that winter like at the beginning but I assume it was supposed to be winter. Though it isn't that uncommon for Southern Illinois where the beginning of the movie takes place (and where I live) to have a mild winter with no snow and not much freezing weather. I'd argue the month when he and the rest are heading to Menards Prison in Chester is probably in December. And that the very end is probably the end of March since I don't think more than a few weeks happen between the time of the Saint Patrick's Day parade and the end. And Saint Patrick's Day is usually in the middle of March.
shareOne of my questions to that is, how did Kimble survive 3 months with no money? There´s also a few lines from Gerard that makes the events, post bus crash seem much shorter than 3 months.
shareIt's not that noticeable but he stole the wallet of the guy whose food he ate.
shareMaybe he got paid working in the hospital as the custodian and possibly had some hidden cash somewhere in Chicago in case of an emergency.
shareAPPROXIMATELY 27 MINUTES.
