Why did Clint get pissed off at Mike for his comment?

I don't think Clint had any reason to get pissed off at Mike for making a comment about someone toking reefer, I also felt they did a total 180 on Clint's character from the scene where he and Wooderson were talking about cars to the scene where he gets pissed off at Mike for his comment.

I wish Mike would have told Clint that he should be given a huge collection of exotic automobiles, millions of $, his own mansion and a bunch of nice vacations just for even being nice to him, I also wish Pink and Wooderson would have punched Clint in the nose for being an a-hole towards Mike.

He's an *beep* in general and an even bigger one when drunk.

And talking to Wooderson earlier to me shows more about Wooderson being a people person than Clint not being a dick.

reply

Maybe Clint felt like Mike's comment was judgmental, like he was judging him for smoking pot, but that wasn't the case, as Mike said, it was simply an observation..

reply

an observation? who are you man, *beep*

Clint himself answers that question for you:

"I only came here to do two things tonight: drink some beer and kick some ass. Looks like we're almost out of beer."

He wasn't really pissed off at Mike, per se. He was just a pissed off guy generally and wanted to fight... anyone. It happened to be Mike. Luck of the draw, I say. That's what I'm talking' about man...

there's a video on youtube of the two of them being interviewed just minutes after filming that scene.. kind of weird to watch the fight, then see them as besties.

Do you have the link to that by chance? Couldn't find it upon looking.

Much obliged, sir. They did seem to get along rather well. Funny. I always like to hear when actors become friends on set. I think Goldberg and Rapp stayed friends as well, or at least kept in touch, given they starred in 'A Beautiful Mind' together years later.

Wow. Thanks as well. That was cool to watch.

He's a bully, he saw a chance to start some *beep* with a nerdy guy so he took it.

Mike was a wound up and thin-skinned personality. And alpha male personalities like Clint see Mike as perfect targets

LOL! True!

Clint's an a-hole, period. And an even bigger one when drunk.

I didn't think Clint was too much of an a-hole when he was hanging out with Wooderson talking about their cars, I would have thought of Clint as a cool guy if they've only showed him in the scene when he is hanging out with Wooderson, I thought Clint's personality did a total 180 at the Moontower scene.

Clint had no reason not to be cool to Wooderson, because Wooderson wasn't a nerdy kid or easy target and would likely have kicked Clint's ass if Clint started with him. Guys like Clint are cowards at heart - really tough against guys they know they can beat up but generally unwilling to pick on someone their own size. But I thought he came across as a macho jerk from the start.

Some people are just nasty drunks. They get some booze in them, and they immediately want to fight people. I suspect he just decided that Mike was the guy he was going to fight, and no matter what he'd said or done, it would have been sufficient to set Clint off.
