Is this the last of Dana Scully?

I remember reading a few months back that she isn't planning on returning for another "event series" - it might be only talk or in the moment type of answer.

reply

Good. Mulder never needed a partner -- especially one as obnoxious as Dana Scully.

reply

It's official, S11 is her last: http://tvline.com/2017/12/31/gillian-anderson-leaving-the-x-files-season-11-scully/

reply

There is only one main exit that characters usually have - getting killed off. I wonder if that's the route they will take or send Mulder and scully off together...not necessarily in death, like living in the middle of nowhere or something.

reply

I wonder if this is really her swan song. I could see CC killing her off, or leaving it open-ended. Maybe she goes off with William?

reply

Ahhh that's a shame. The duo is important to me it won't feel like the X-files without her.

Such a tease to come back for such a short time.

reply

I wouldn't worry too much about it, pretty sure she said the same thing decades ago.

reply

I'd welcome a show that wrapped up the mythology, wrapped up Scully, wrapped up the kid, got rid of all that crap, and started fresh with Mulder running a new X-Files squad, a whole team this time. I don't see Scully as a strength in this show any longer. Her story lines have dragged the show into quicksand.

reply

Well, GA is certainly not into it anymore.

reply

Without Mulder and Scully, the show will be as good as dead. They already tried replacing them with different actors and it didn't work. And without Gillian Anderson I don't think Duchovny will still want to do the show.

reply

I agree, those other agents "Einstein"WTF? will NOT cut it. And you're prob right DD will want nothing to do with the franchise. Unless, he really needs the work. personally, I liked him in the recent series "Aquarius". It was good.

reply

I've been seeing so many articles on "Why Gillian is leaving X Files" & "Why now this her swan song"
Why would this be heavily "advertised" everywhere?

reply

Well, I suppose because the show is airing right now. As they say, even bad publicity is publicity or something like that. She does a lot of work in Britain where she lives.

reply

I'm just saying it's not a good way to "hide" a characters exit, unless it doesn't matter.

reply

She wants more money buddy
