I preferred Whalen because Landes was just too street-smart and cocky for my liking. Jack Larsen set the pattern for the "bumbling" Jimmy Olsen and Larsen's portrayal spawned a Jimmy Olsen comic book that continued publication for the next 30 years.

Whalen played it much closer to the classic Larsen interpretation of the character than Landes did.

Both actors had their qualities but Justin had three whole seasons over Michael's sole season.

I like Michael in Final Destination 2.

And Justin was good in Serial Mom.

I can't really remember Michael as Jimmy.

I do remember Justin as a Jimmy and he was OK.

But he was always overshadowed by Dean and Teri.

First Jimmy, he had a funny, good natured personality. Second Jimmy creeped me out, with his long hair and too-tight pants. I always thought it was funny they fired Michael Landes for supposedly looking too much like Dean Cain, since to me Justin Whalin somehow resembled him even MORE with his slightly Eurasian/Navajo Indian look.
