He had a major presence in season 1. Then season 2, he was gone, never to be seen again until the last episode.
How come they wrote off such a major character? Did they give an explanation?
In Season 1 Ep 22 "I Dream of Feeny", Cory and Shawn disappeared Minkus with psychic energy.

That's a great question. Minkus was a pretty funny and useful character. I suppose that after Michael Jacobs decided to change Topanga's character to be more normal, she completed the trio with Corey and Shawn. Therefore, there wasn't much time or use for Minkus.
They could've brought him back and featured him in a few story lines over the years, though. Like they did with Frankie, Joey, and Harley.
Yup. In season 1 they were playing around with the characters to see what stuck, and then when Friends came out and immediately blew up they decided they wanted to make this more of a teen show, and apparently Minkus didn't fit their idea of that. Love Minkus though.

I thought Minkus was written off the show when it pivoted to being a sitcom teen soap opera. Lee Norris was too ugly for that by network tv standards.
