The War (7.15) was actually a pretty good episode.
Girl Meets World is great. Not perfect, but it has a lot of potential to be just as good as BMW.
I was okay with all the Shawn drama.

I like Rachel and I wish Cory has stayed with Lauren.
shareI wish Corey and Topanga did not end up together.
I think there should have been more focus on Morgan in the later seasons when she was older.
I thought Topanga should've dated the cute guy from the art museum for more than one episode.
Shawn should've gotten married at the end of the series instead of Topanga and Corey. Instead Shawn ended up alone just as he has been the whole series.
I think she should have dated him a little longer, too, but Topanga & Cory are one of my OTPs.
Older Morgan = no.
I think Shawn needed to be alone for a while after Angela because he used girls as a way to make up for the fact that his family was never around. I don't think he ended up alone after all of these years. But, he had to find out who he is.
"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"
1. I am not a fan of the 2nd Morgan.
2. Cory and Topanga are one of my OTPs.
3. I loved Shawn and Angela! She kept him so grounded.
4. I agree, Amy and Alan were right to dismiss Cory & Pangers.
5. I wished Eric hadn't gone to college. I'm glad he got in, but when he got there, his intelligence faded.
"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"
I agree, it was very unrealistic that Eric went to college. At the very least he could've gone to a community college that was next to Pennbrook so he could still be around all the time.
I hate how in shows the parents treat children like scum failures if they don't go to college; it's not for everyone.
It would have been more interesting to see another path after high school. Or they could've done the same with Shawn.
After high school, there was no reason for this show to continue. The show could've ended with an open cliffhanger, where Topanga proposes marriage. That would've been a great WTF moment.

I don't really care for the Halloween episode where they're locked in the high school.
This is a non-riot hearse. If it were a hearse, there would be silence in the backseat.
I agree with the poster that said Lauren was a bitch for pursuing a guy with a girlfriend. Like he's taken, too bad, move on.
Also, I didn't hate Rachel either.
I prefer seasons 5-7 more than 1-4.
I liked Shawn's drama.
I loved Seven The Hard Way and The War.
I hated Lauren's actions with Cory at the ski lodge when she knew he had a girlfriend.
Possible Unpopular Opinion:
I wish Cory and Topanga had actually stayed broken up for a while AND dated other people for a few MONTHS at least before getting back together.
I liked Lauren but I didn't want her and Cory together.
I liked dumb Eric and enjoyed his "stupid" scenes (even though I do agree he's character should have never gotten to that point)
I hate that Verna ended up not being Shawn's birth mom (Not sure what others think of this, but that story line always bugged me)

I think most people just like to forget that part of the show, I don't think anyone liked it.
This isn't anything that hasn't been said but, I much prefer the later seasons. I don't know if it's just because they're all older and I can relate more. Also, I liked Eric's character during college, even though I do agree that he did become more dumb downed.
I also agree with a previous comment that said Angela kept Shawn grounded. I always loved Shawn and Angela together.
I didn't know a lot of these were unpopular lol. I didn't know people had hated Rachel and liked Lauren. I'm pretty much the opposite in which I loved Rachel and didn't care so much for Lauren, although I did like the Cory and Topanga break up storyline.
Hmm I thought that realistically that people who are in early high school age aren't as serious as Corey and Topanga. I thought getting them married was just a lame way for them to have sex which I guess would have been a no no otherwise. Jack and Rachel seemed to be sleeping together, same with Sean and Angela, but it was never said out loud-just implied strongly. So I suppose I wish they would have kept them a little less serious with each other until maybe the fifth season or so. I would have liked to see Corey act a little less like a little adult and more like a "Boy". The first two seasons are nice that way.
I really hated how they kept changing all the back stories as far as how characters met, Corey and Topanga being boyfriend and girlfriend since they were five was really silly. Also retroactively making Feeny their kindergarten teacher was a bit much.
Do not like Shawn when he is not funny.
Never minded Eric being dumb, he had comic talent and they used it.
Corey was at his best the first few years, again they made him too grown up too early. Didn't mind his neurotic side, just he was way too deep for a teenager as was Shawn I guess.
Topanga was again best when she was given comedy. She should have kept some of that weird stuff from the first season. Not a lot but a little would have been fun.
I think they should have basically should have played to the comedy first and not tried to be so serious. Other shows tackled issues, but still managed to make you laugh. When Boy Meets World did an issue episode, it really took on too dark of a hue. It aged the show a lot now.
They also got rid of some really good characters from the first seasons like Minkus, Harley, Frankie, Mr. Turner, and replaced them with ones I don't think worked as well. I didn't dislike Rachel, except for the prank episodes but she was just kind of there. Angela also didn't do anything for me. Heck Bud the janitor was funnier than Jack. I think it just kept changing too much.
I actually was a fan through the whole thing, but it hasn't aged as well as it could have. I like certain episodes a lot still, but they are the ones that have very little in the relationship or drama department.

And we've known Eric's been having sex since at least Season 4.
When is it said that Shawn and Angela were sleeping together? I remember the episode where they almost seem to go all the way with the truth or dare game, but I don't recall a line saying they were actually sleeping together.
Eric, are you just going off of the line in the Halloween episode? Obviously that's pretty clear, just wondering if there was something else that gave you the idea.

I mean... they move in together for a while in Season 7. And Cory accuses them of "living in sin." The obvious implication was that they were having sex. Plus, a reference was made in "You're Married You're Dead" to Cory being the only virgin in a room that included Shawn. I actually assume Shawn's first time was maybe not with Angela and happened offscreen shortly after their breakup when he wanted to sow his wild oats more.
In Season 4, Cory is wondering if he and Topanga are ready to sleep together. He asks Eric how he knew he was ready to have sex, and Eric tells Cory not to compare himself to him or Shawn or anyone else but to only worry about when he himself is ready. So, even by Season 4, it's sort of treated as common knowledge that Eric isn't a virgin. I assume Eric lost it in high school, at some unspecified point in Seasons 2 or 3. share

Some good points. I forgot about Eric's conversation with Cory. You could definitely take it that way.

I'm not totally for or against Alan's treatment of newlywed Cory and Topanga. Im 26 and I still live with my parents. My older brother and his wife are 28 and they live with her grandma. They've never lived alone and they got married at 20. And my younger brother and his wife are 24 and they've also never lived alone. They've always lived with her mom.
shareDo you live in the NY metro tristate area? NJ, CT, Long Island, NYC? Just wondering
shareWhile I (for the most part) agree with how Alan dealt with Cory and Topanga getting married, in general, I found his character to be jerky and selfish.
I'm not boring you am I?
No my doctor says I need to air out the back of my throat every 5 minutes
I like Rachel. She's not the best character by any means, but it was nice seeing a less serious character when the last few seasons got drama-heavy (which I also liked).
I also loved Jack and Rachel together and was bummed when they broke up, especially since we never got any details about what happened. Kind of like the above, I thought they were/would be a good, light-hearted couple to counteract all of the Cory/Topanga & Shawn/Angela drama. I always took the ending to mean they eventually got back together, but if either ends up on Girl Meets World, I hope we get a confirmation that they did and are still together.
I. Hate. Angela. At least, I did by the end. I'm glad she and Shawn didn't up together and I hope they don't get back together in GMW. Shawn deserves (and needs) someone who is essentially the female version of Cory - someone who came from a steady home life, who is balanced and who will stick it out with him when things get tough. Angela is not that person. (Though, okay, I'm very excited to see their upcoming GMW episode!)
I like the later seasons as well. 1-3 are good, but I got super hooked around 4 and that has always stuck with me for some reason.

I agree. Alan took it too far. There was no reason to not help your kid learn how to fix something.
