The War (7.15) was actually a pretty good episode.

Girl Meets World is great. Not perfect, but it has a lot of potential to be just as good as BMW.

I was okay with all the Shawn drama.

I never liked Angela, and I really hope that she does NOT appear on GMW. She seemed really cocky, aggressive, controlling, etc and I never thought they were a good couple. If she and Shawn are together in GMW, I will feel really bad for Shawn.

reply

Angela wasn't my favorite character either. Her and Shawn weren't believable as a couple, and her character was too wishy-washy when it came to her relationship with Shawn.

reply

Lauren isn't favorable, and from what i've read, a lot of people seem to just like the actress, not the character she played. I don't think she was better than Topanga at all.

reply

i dislike Eric with his hair long.

I had a problem with how shawn handled his girlfriend getting slapped around by her father.

Jack's teeth were too white.

[this is a popular opinion... but I hated Rachel. and I hated her even more when the guys would fawn over her. or under her??]

I love Shawn and Angela as a couple more than Cory and Topanga.

I prefer the later seasons(4-7) to the first few seasons(1-3).

The first season of Boy Meets World, was the best season of the show.

reply

I thought Cory had more chemistry with Lauren and should have ended with her.

Turner should have died.

Eric was gay.

There is not an episode that sucks.

Topanga and Shawn should have gotten together at one point.

I agree with this one.

I actually really like that theory. If that was true and he had trouble accepting it, so much of his crazy behavior in the last seasons makes so much more sense than it does. What is it in the show that contributes to this opinion of yours?

reply

I liked the Shawn drama. I thought it made the show more realistic than other comedies out there since the truth is life is just not all a bunch of laughs.

I didn't dislike Rachel.

Lauren was a bitch for kissing and trying to pursue a boy who already had a girlfriend.

Cory did not have more chemistry with Lauren than he did with Topanga.

Topanga was not a controlling bitch.

Cory and Topanga ending up together was perfect.

Stupid Imdb! Will not let me use an apostrophe in my signature.

Unpopular opinions: Alan had every right to treat Cory and Topanga like he did when they came back from their honeymoon with no place to stay.

reply

I agree novastar_. When I was younger, I always thought "why won't he help them?! They obviously need it!" But now when I watch that episode, I'm glad Alan didn't give in. It was not his responsibility to take care and shelter them! Corey and Topanga thought they were adult enough to get married so they were adult enough to take care of themselves. Who gets married without a job, income or even a place to live? Did they think they were going to play roommates with their friends still? No! Because that's not what you do when you get married. Being too young to marry is nothing but not being able to take care of themselves that's ridiculous.

But they had already a place lined up by living with Rachel and Angela until proper housing opened up. Rachel kicked Topanga out without any notice and moved Shawn in. The apartment wasn't even hers to begin with, but she made that call as if she had the right to choose who got to live there or not.

And before you say, "BUT BUT BUT THEY SHOULD STILL LIVE ALONE AND TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES ANYWAY" how would you feel if you arranged to live with a roommate for, say, a semester at college and you come home one day to find your bags packed and in the hallway because your roommate decided she would rather move someone else in instead? They're married, yes, but married couples can and do live with friends or roommates or relatives until they can afford an apartment or home.

While I agree that they should've planned things better and that they shouldn't mooch off of Corey's parents, this circumstance was different from that. I wish Corey and Topanga had pushed harder to stay in the apartment. Or hell, Alan and Amy could've at least gone over to Rachel's and chewed her out for kicking their son and daughter-in-law out since this whole situation was HER fault.

what newlyweds EVEN THINK that this is okay???? What HOSTS for that matter want two sex crazed newlyweds living in their house???

to be honest, I think they should have waited for them to come back to tell them 'this is not a good idea', but I agree with Rachel and angela that this was not a good idea.

and proper housing.... what IS that in college???

many if not most colleges kind of frown upon college students getting married.

call me and them prudes, call us old fogies, but I believe that you should not be able to take care of someone else [spouse and or child] until you can take care of yourself. and I don't mean getting to the ER when you cut yourself, I mean paying bills and being able to buy milk and diapers with the money YOU earned.

there is a reason why the dorms in Pennbrook were WORLDS better than the I SEE DEAD PEOPLE MARRIED HOUSING. the colleges frown upon it and don't want to encourage to the already hoards of people lining up for the dole.

...Really...

Now Alan and Amy were not only responsible for making sure Corey and his wife had a place to stay but also for telling off anyone who wrongs them? This isn't kindergarten.

Honestly it was ridiculous to pander to the dopey 13 year old audience and have them get married. It played into the often criticized Disney complex that marriage is the only possible next step once love is attained. The truth is marriage requires responsibility and maturity that doesn't necessarily accompany love.

reply

I 100% agree with you.

it taught Cory a harsh lesson too - and he grew up, and made his own dingy apartment into a decent one.

and I was glad Alan convinced Amy not to budge.
