Your Favorite "Villain"

ATGB is too gentle to have a real villain, but it does benefit from putting its protagonists up against adversaries. The 'bad guys' create tension, challenge the main characters, and help them grow a little as people. So, who is your favorite villain?

1) Penny

2) Miss Ice Cubes

3) Mrs Flack

4) The County Set

5) The Stalker

Personally I'd pick the formidable Miss Ice Cubes. Totally under-rated guest character who had the girls on their toes. Had a nice thread of affection with Lionel. Would've turned Alistair's head. And a great looking woman. I wish they would've made her into a semi-regular.

How about Lionel's girlfriend in the beginning of the series? Lionel stayed at her house when he went out of London to do a book presentation and she went with him to the presentation, and -- oops -- Jean showed up to surprise him. Awkward !!!

Out of the ones listed, The Country Set are IMO the worst.

I laugh at Mrs. Flack's prattering on, so I guess she would be my favorite "villain."

On the other hand, Penny has no redeeming qualities.

Must vote for the Country Set.

Any "faces" that would harm a hair on kindly Lol's head get my vote for truly evil. They harmed Lol! Gah.

My vote is for Penny as she was around more than the others and annoyed just about everyone. I enjoyed the episode referencing Jean's retirement where Stephen put her in her place by telling her she'd never worked a day in her life.

The stalker appeared in just one episode and the rest had limited runs. I do think they could have done more with Miss Ice Cubes. Mrs. Flack was both annoying and amusing, but I wasn't sorry to see her go. Thankfully, the County Set was around for just a couple of episodes as they were quite irritating and I was glad to see Jean and Lionel finally tell them off.
