Who actually thought this movie was scary when they were younger?
I was like five or six when I saw it. I rewatched the other day and I can honestly say what the *beep*

shareJust saw it for what I perceived to be the first time. However, I recall having a nightmare when I was something like 5, about a goblin which I remember to this day (earliest nightmare I still remember), and the goblin looked EXACTLY like the ones in this film. That or maybe a Wild Thing. So maybe I saw a clip when I was younger. Or maybe it was a Wild Thing. (Where the Wild Things Are terrified me as a kid.)
shareI first watched this on HBO when I was 11 or 12. I think my brother and cousin were watching it with me. Even at that age, I knew it was bad.
shareI wouldn't doubt that this movie actually scared these kids back in its day. The concept of it is horrifying and the final scene is shockingly dark and unsetlling, but the overabundance of crappy lines and comedically bad acting lightens the tone up by a shítton.
shareI rented it from the video store when I was like 10 years old, I wasn't that young, I can't say I was scared but I was really confused LOL I didn't understand the plot at all and didn't even finish the movie.
Also, I didn't even think it was funny (like I do now, in making fun of how bad it all is!) I just felt like "I don't get this."
I also felt the same way when years earlier I watched the original "Troll".
I used to watch it all the time. The only part that scared me was the end. I was a very logical child and it made no sense. The family never looked for the teens, the family disappears and the mother gets eaten. Maybe the whole family gets eaten? Nothing was clear. I would watch it because it was fun! Oh, and for some reason when he finds out nilbog is goblin backwards. Side note: I loved the theme and intro as a child, I still do.
