Alice In Chains...Anyone else frustrated..?

Man, i just wanted to see the band perform instead of seeing the lame action between the lame characters during the concert...with the music in the background haha...And who walks away before an AiC concert is over..? :/

Of course, this was made in 1992 so AiC were very much alive (I mean Layne, and Mike), but today it's awfully frustrating to see the band in the bacground....

Oh well. I'm still grieving i guess.

Agree completely...actually, the music was the only reason my husband even bought this movie years ago (and after watching it, I totally see why). In my opinion, the music is what carried this movie for me!

reply

In that case...BUY OR DOWNLOAD A RECORDING OF AN AIC CONCERT AND STOP BITCHING THAT A MOVIE ISN'T SOLELY GIVEN OVER TO AN ADMITTEDLY AWESOME BAND! Or something =D

reply

Dude, calm down...No bitching done..Alice In Chains just happens to be my favourite band, that's all. If your own fave band -that no longer is, because of an untimely death- appeared in a movie, i'm sure you'd feel the weird same.

It is slightly frustrating, yes, because the characters don't really listen to the band in the movie, and leave before the gig ends, it's not a big deal, but when a band you adore is dead, that kind of scene kind of gives you a pinch in the heart, that's it. But it's nice to see the band anyway, you know...

No need for big angry caps and petty, useless advice...

I might get some serious hate for this but... As someone who's seen AIC live... Studio is way better, their sound quality live truly wasn't good. I saw them in T.O. When they opened for Van Halen and it was ear poison. I love AIC, but live wasn't their thing.

reply

it was cool to see them in the movie though.

Yeah, i agree, it's a nice thing to see AiC in a movie. : ) Just looks surreal because everyone was alive and well back then...

They were outstanding in the MTV Unplugged concert and their music stands the test of time.

reply

Their Unplugged show was amazing and I still listen to that CD, whereas I haven't listened to any of the studio albums in the last 15 years.

reply

No hate here, i was thinking the same thing. They opened for the clash of titans tour way back when and they were really not good. Maybe they got better over time?

reply

The full performances of It Ain't Like That and Would are on the new blu-ray edition that just came out.

reply

I miss Layne, Mike, Andy and Kurt. I hear you brother.

reply

I don't really understand your complaint...this is a romantic comedy, more or less, it's not a documentary about AiC. lol

"Why couldn't the monkey arrange this from INSIDE the garbage can?"

reply

'It ain't like that'...love that song.

reply

It's Seattle, the characters had probably seen AIC a million times as a local band.
