I've never seen a black directed movie include so many stereotypes of white people: dumb Italian-Americans, overzealous rednecks, smooth talking Brits, nerdy associates etc.

shareFor what it's worth, this was written with Stallone in mind to play John Cutter. He passed on it, and needless to say they cast Snipes. Good move too, I like Sly and all, but Snipes was pretty bad-ass in this.

shareI think Hollywood was trying very hard at that time to get Wesley Snipes to be as big as Stallone/Arnold/Van Damme. They didn't have a black action star in that era (which was the action movie golden age).
