The mother was beyond stupid

She comes in and sees him watching a video of the girl next door finding her dead boyfriend, and Mikey clearly has a hammer sitting infront of him, and she calmly sits down in a chair going "Mikey what have you done?" in the tone as if she found out he broke a window or something.

She then continues to sit there like a dumb ass while he comes at her with a hammer, she lets him smash her hand, and instead of jumping up and knocking him down or taking the hammer away like any normal adult would, she casually walks to the fridge to get ice for her hand... i'm fucking serious.

Then he walks up and claws her in the arm with the hammer, she knocks his a little ass down cause he's a fucking tiny 9 year old, but instead of subduing him she runs away as if shes being attacked by a grown adult man who can over power her. And in the end he charges at her with a glass shard and for some reason this tiny 9 year old boy has the power to drive her through the railing and stabs her in the neck.

I swear this woman was one of the dumbest characters ever in a horror movie, all the adults was fucking dumb in this, there was so many moments where they could easily avoid dying and they essentially let this tiny kid kill them.

I just started watching this and already shocked at the stupidity of the mom in the beginning. She finds her son playing with fire then goes to take a bath in the middle of the day leaving two kids unsupervised? It makes no sense.

Yeah thats the problem with this movie, for it to work it requires all of the adults to be completely stupid and allow this tiny little kid to over power them and kill them. Pretty much all the adult death scenes are terrible and stupid and has them behaving like idiots when they could easily get away or over power the 9 year old.

The teacher was one of the worst, she sees the principal dead and calmly starts walking away instead of running, then turns around and dies by being shot in the face by a marble from a slingshot.

It's a movie about a killer kid. Of course the adults had to be stupid lol.

The only movie where this plot kinda worked was Orphan. That little girl was legit dangerous.

With all that said though, regardless how cheesy Mikey was, I still enjoyed the movie.

I disagree, the adults didn't have to be stupid, The Good Son did it really well, and it did it right cause in The Good Son Culkin wasn't overpowering and killing a bunch of adults in stupid scenarios, he was mainly fucking with Elijah Woods character who was also a kid and setting up stuff like his little sister nearly drowning. Culkin was mostly putting other kids in danger in that movie, he wasn't facing adults face to face and taking them out like Mikey.

Theres ways to do killer kid movies without making all of the adults completely brain dead.

Agreed. The adults didn't have to be stupid. But I pretty much took the hint that they would be after watching the scene when the detective asked Mikey questions and then quickly dismissed him as a suspect. Those were not good questions. Lol

Oh and I agree about The Good Son. Great movie.

Yeah The Good Son is probably my favorite killer kid movie of all time, Orphan is a close second love that movie as well, another killer kid movie done perfectly, i mean technically Orphan aint a killer kid movie knowing the twist but i still count it lol.

Also Bloody Birthday, if you haven't seen it check it out thats an amazing killer kid movie from the 80's, done so well and the kids in it are great.

Most of the adults in the movie were idiots, but it was still an entertaining movie.
