He was shot by the cops during a raid of a gay bathouse he was in.

He didn't die. That a was a story his mother made up to save him the pain of knowing his dad ran the local drug scene for the rich white folks and when he got in too deep he turned states evidence against his suppliers and started a new life in witness protection without them with his piece on the side, a local gym bunny and notorious party animal who he would constantly reveal the inner workings of his illegal enterprise whilst snorting his own product off her naked rear end before engaging in sex acts whilst wearing only ice-skates and she wore Gordon's Hawks jersey.

Try explaining that to a 10 year old!
