Scenes that Made You Cry or Sad

What made me cry and is making me cry right now as I watch Lorenzo's Oil is when the father is looking over the medical texts reading about what was going to happen to his son. Blindness, Deafness, Dementia, seizure, and paralysis, and then seeing him crying on the stairs. . . I could see and feel his pain and it was so full of despair. . . it was very hard to watch.

Hands down... when Susan Sarandon was holding Lorenzo- he was having a horrific episode- & she was trying to assure him that 'if he flew to baby Jesus, mommy & daddy would be okay." I gotta admit it, that scene brought tears to my eyes...

I was looking over these posts because I just described this exact scene to my husband. He's never seen it. We were watching Awakenings and I told him about this movie. That scene, when he sees what's going to happen to his son, and him falling on the stairs in gut wrenching pain, oh god. I can FEEL his pain thru this scene. A lot of people didn't like his acting in this film. I, however felt he made it so clear the pain he was feeling, knowing what was to come.

A scene that didn't make me cry, but gave me chills, the scene where the parents were yelling at the clueless parents. The ones that thought they needed to wait for the FDA to approve to medicine. The parents started shouting. The AIDS patients fought for the drugs and they got em. If people don't stand up, fight, there's never any progress. I don't care if the Oil didn't work for my child. If he was facing that horrible of a death, and the medicine killed him, at least I tried. People like that make me sick. Let your son suffer while waiting for someone else to do something. Or just try. I'm with the people who try.
