Inconsistent character motivations

So if Dawson is all about “Unit, Corps, God, Country” wouldn’t it be against his code to rat out Jessup and Kendrick for ordering the Code Red? Shouldn’t Dawson and Downey also have come to the realization that the country was safer under Jessup’s leadership?

Seems like if we are going by that code Dawson and Downey were just as dishonorable as they saw Santiago as. Heck Markinson committed suicide because he didn’t want to betray his honor to the corps by testifying against Jessup. If they were truly devoted to their code it would seem more logical that they would be honored to take one for the team and take the fall for Santiago’s death.

They’re under oath. And Dawson even intimated to Danny….he will tell it exactly the way it happened, and if that means there are consequences, he will accept them.

He was not under oath when he told Danny, and he didn’t have to take the stand. And again he as a character has loyalty to his Unit first, then the Corps, then God then the country. The court is very very very far down the list.

Also you only had to reply to me once.
