Dave...what a piece of crap!!!
I recently rewatched this movie since it's streaming on Netflix, I haven't seen this movie in probably 15 years but anyways...I HAD to come onto IMDB to talk about what a humongous douche canoe Dave, the "protagonist" is. I mean really!!. He is quite possibly one of the most unlikable main characters I've seen in a movie in a long time. Hell, even right now I am having trouble thinking of another protagonist that is more of a piece of s%*t then Dave is in this movie.
First off, he actually says out loud that he didn't date Robyn when she had the hots for him in 9th grade because she hadn't hit "babe hood" yet. This shows everyone right there that all that troll cares about is looks. They grew up together and he cared NOTHING for her personality and didn't deem her "worthy" to date his ugly short ass, prior to her hitting babe hood and more than likely realizing what a moron she was for ever liking a d%*k bag like Dave.
He actively pines and pretty much stalks Robyn while she's dating another d-bag, but then doesn't see what a creep he is and has the audacity to get crappy with the dude who is just trying out keep the wormy dork away from his girlfriend. Yes, Matt was a jerk, but what guy does anyone know that wouldn't do the same thing trying to keep that tard away from his girlfriend.
He finds a caveman and hatches some insanely convoluted plan that somehow he is going on make him super cool at school. How that would even ever work I still haven't figured out because for Link to show up at a new school and hang out with Dave right away would probably destroy any possibility that he would become popular anyways by hanging out with that loser piece of ass cheese.
He tries to ditch Link as soon as he doesn't get his way, he acts like a total creep (the naked bathtub picture...WTF?) He thinks he's hot stuff because he dances along with Link and Stoney at prom to a dance that Link made up. And his never ending complaining and bitching about being popular in his High School when he's a freaking senior and about to be out of there is just plain pathetic. And on top of all of that, he's a short, ugly, fat ass troll. I mean this guy is the epitome of total freaking t\/\/at waffle, psycho, pathetic, di<k bag loser! I really hate his character.
Ok rant over. But damn Dave SUCKS!!
