Civil War reactions have brought a troll plague down on the board.

It's like someone left cheese and grain out overnight and all the rats have come sniffing.

The early reactions must REALLY sting, especially since Marvel lifted the embargo so early relative to BvS.

As I always say, studios know, basically, what they have, long before it hits the theaters. Their marketing gives it away.

As expected. Just imagine Thursday when the reviews start coming in.

We are threatened in an unique way this year.

-One one front we have the BUTT-HURT DC fans that can't get over, and will not get over the fact that not only CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR will be better but it will make back.

-One the other hand we are threatened by the pissed off Foxtrolls who begrudge us for FANT4STIC "fantastic" failure and are already afraid X-Men: Apocalypse will get as lambasted as BvS was and will swarm the board.

Look at the BvS board, that has been non-stop since three days before it opened, when the reviews started pouring in.

So what's the next step?

I could suggest we would move to the next logical step which is the "Doctor Strange" board, but it is PLAGUED by SJW pissed off that Stephen Strange is being played by a white guy (as he always has been).

So I'm all ears for suggestions.

F4 was bad yes.. BUT, I REALLY lilked DOFP. I think it'll be good. Bryan Singer is no Zack Snyder.

Yeah it kinds sucks we wont see an X-Men 4 with the original cast taking on Apocalypse. It'd be like a whole slew of new actors for the MCU taking on Thanos. But I think Snyder really gets story well. Even if that means butchering other charcaters at the expense. So i'm still optimistic at XMA being good.

Other than Jackman, Patrick and McAvoy, none of the other cast members haven't done anything noteworthy outside there roles that would command a huge payday right? In fact, all of them were in DOFP and the budget for that movie was 200 million. Which is standard for todays CBM's. But youre right. Getting unknown actors for cheap in hopes of making bigger returns sounds way more lucrative.

JLaw is probably commanding the biggest salary in the cast right now.

Without a doubt. Its funny because she pretty much writes her own checks now with her popular she is. They really have no choice but to pay her ALOT. Sort of like tyebsituation with RDJ and Marvel.

I think they all did because FOX were gonna carry on with new faces as a way to reboot the franchise. I think what they didnt expect was for Jennifer Lawrence to become so popular. That was a steal for them.

Yeah....its going to be like this for a month. We can clean the board up again but not until we watch the movie unfortunately because of spoilers.

You on point Phife?- RIP Phife Dog

Yes. That's gonna be the hard part. Hopefully everyone else starts migrating here to make the time go by faster lol.

Well the trolls will be dissolved easily once the veterans watch the film and combat trolls with logic. Once they're outed we can press ignore.

reply

Yeah, cleaning house might be a bit more of an effort this time around since the trolls are extremely bitter over how BvS was received. But we'll get it done when it comes down to it, we usually do.

Agent Hill: ...Then aliens invaded New York and were beaten back, by among others, a giant green monster, a costumed hero from the 40's.... and a god.

Agent Ward: I don't think Thor is technically a god.

Hill: Well...you haven't been near his arms.

I'm not a fan of being a snitch but we can generate a thread with the names of all the known trolls and keep posting in it to keep it on the front page for people to ignore them.

Honestly reporting a thread isn't always viable. But ignoring them and making sure their threads get zero replies would hit them where it hurts.

Another issue is that the trolls have figured out a way to "dirty" a board. They make a thread and the minute it gets a reply they press delete so the board gets filled with a bunch of "posted deleted" messages.

I think what isn't helping is that most of those reactions are coming from known critics, granted many are from the more fanboyish pop culture end but still critics nonetheless.

Whereas with BvS the names with the initial reactions were very much a case of, "Who are these people?"

As I always say, studios know, basically, what they have, long before it hits the theaters. Their marketing gives it away.

Pretty much.

They were people who came out to the theater just to see a BvS trailer in December: the fannest of the fans. WB invited them to a special pre-screening less than a week before they opened, and encouraged them to publish their opinions...while the critics were still under embargo.

Oh I know that.

But that is the thing. It was reactions from random people while the critics and press had to wait... and wait.

Civil War's reactions are from known people. Sure they still have to wait a bit before they write/film their full reviews but they are being allowed their initial twitter (and similar venue) reactions.

It makes for a rather stark contrast seeing who those positive reactions are coming from.

Unfortunate that that has to be the case. Also, some people are probably going to try and post a bunch of spoilers, too.

Instead of fighting on IMDB, why not support DC, Marvel, AND Fox and hope ALL their flicks are good?

reply

So ive been avoiding the main board since that screening the other day. Have people been spoiling everything?
