Candyman: avenging whites on behalf of blacks?

At least in the movie. The black summoned spirit did ruin a white woman's life by framing her for multiple murders. I don't think she was arrogant to do the story she did by going into an all black ghetto, I think she was just out of touch. The ''Candyman spirit'' in my opinion interpreted her action as exploitive towards the black community and wanted to put her in her place. He also killed blacks... yes, but he killed far more whites. Plus, the residents were practically worshiping him and giving him offerings. This is how I see the film.

Helen was targetted because she was debunking the Candyman legend, effectively killing him (she also later appears to be some kind of reincarnation of his white lover)

The black community seemed terrified of The Candyman, and showed up at Helen’s grave to give thanks for killing him off.

I see no evidence that Helen was exploiting blacks or that Candyman thought she was.

Candyman was an enraged ghoul who attacked everyone. The people didn’t want Helen around because she was calling him out and stirring up trouble.

I don’t think the incident at the end was a first time Candyman took a baby.
