Really really dissapointing

I went into this expecting quite a lot, and it was just terrible, a really vile film, the black humour i had heard about was crass and unsophisticated, the message is practically non existant, the only point i can find in it is about the impossibility of reporters completely detaching themselves from their subject, its not a very interesting or worthwhile point to make and as a result to film is just boring for the most part, and repellant in others. If you're undecided on seeing this, my advice would be dont bother

I agree this film does not live up to its reputation. I just finished it and I found it really underwhelming. I know precisely what it was trying to accomplish by reading about it beforehand and I just didn't feel it was effective. The killer character is amusing to watch, to a degree, but also comes off as way too glib to be real or even surreal. And there are waaaaay too many killings shown, in quick shots to be even mildly plausible, which breaks suspension of disbelief for me, which is kinda crucial when it's going for a realistic documentary feel. There's really no way he could have gone on killing that many and so haphazardly.

i watched this film last night for the first time and i was blown away. i honestly dont think ive ever seen anything like it. it was quite an amazing film, well done, i loved the camera shots and editing especially. i thought part of the film was meant to show how someone (like people in a film crew) can easily be taken over by this violence. as the film progresses he has guys from the crew help him with these murders. dumping bodies, holding the kid down, etc.. overall i gave it a 9/10

I found it very refreshing once I "got" the joke and realised that this wasn't just about one serial killer but a serial killer and his entourage. There was just no way this documentary was going to marketed and all the parties involved knew it. The "making of the documentary" was just a pretext to indulge in their ( the killer and his entourage) thrill murders. When looked at in this context, this movie is just hilarious.

To me, the main problem was that the movie was boring. Was it farce? A social massage of a kind? Who knows...

Well, i was disappointed too. Won't ever try to watch it again.
I just can't see any reason to recommend it to anyone.
Why anyone should watch such a dirty violent set of pictures?
Very overrated movie.
