The death of the second in command was easily worst death my girlfriend and I have ever seen on screen. We were actually expecting him to get up again and make a joke or something (to show that the wooden stick doesn't work on him or something). Wow, just wow.
It's a comedy. His dying scene was supposed to be funny. And it was!
I laughed my head off the first time I saw this movie. I like it better than the series, which I haven't watched because it's not a direct take on this movie. I also like the music. From veteran actors Donald Sutherland & Rutger Hauer, to a young David Arquette, it's a great cast! This film is more like a farce or a parody of the vampire genre. It's great early 90's fare.
