i think this movie is racist

i'm probably the last person to point out that something is racist but this movie makes it obvious.

these are the only white people in the whole movie:

1. waitress in the beginning, (M. Lawrence said she was racist, made her look like a jackass)
2. salesman at clothing store, (again made him a racist and made him look like a complete *beep*
3. 4 brute guys carrying grace jones in her premier. these guys were chained and treated like reindeer.

those were the only white people in the movie. to me, it seemed the makers of the movie went out of their way to send a message.

loved the movie, hilarious. love eddie, love martin, love david alan grier, but i think this movie is racist.

i think it is very unfortunate that many races have been through racism is recent history, but please, it's a 2way street and we need to kill the whole idea of racism. i know, impossible, but it doesn't mean we can't try.

Some board members (at least four) were white when they showed Grace Jones giving birth to her perfume. There were also about six board members (all white) in the elevator after the Strange perfume deal was closed.

Whites are far from being underrated. They overwhelming dominate movies and television.

I'm going to start by saying that I'm white, and I LOVE LOVE "black movies"... Two can play that game, nutty professor, diary of a mad black woman, madea, etc. all those movies are excellent. But I was truly offended by this movie and it wasn't because it was an all black cast (because there are many great movies with an all black or all white cast). It was how the few people of a different ethnicity were degraded and treated poorly. I think period movies must portray people being treated poorly to stay true to the era, but this was made during a time when freedom for all groups had been established decades prior. Neither white or black people should be degrading people of a different race than their own and be made out to be the protagonists. I think this is why there was an uproar about this movie. That was just a very small part of the movie though, so the main issue really that I had was Eddie Murphy and friends' general attitude about women. He is strong and successful which is inspiring, but he's a jerk and a womanizer... No one could argue that.

I really, honestly, just was not entertained, and being a huge Eddie Murphy fan, I did not feel like this was his funny era. His "player" movie phase was a low to me personally, but I know I'm certainly very much in the minority with that opinion.
