Hold it right there! The Europeans first came to America, in search for new land and possibly treasures. They paid off many of the tribes with gold, and those who did not accept, were slaughtered. Known fact.

Now, those who are now Americans, stole the land from the natives. Not only did they take without giving, they seemingly also did NOT have any intentions of letting the natives be at peace. So they finally locked what was left of them, up, in reservations. How nice.

Then one day, they had them all lined up, and they killed every last one of them.



I actually don't blame them though. It's a human instinct. Fear. Everywhere, if there has been anything that could turn into a possible threat, or just not really fitting in, we've exterminated it. YES, the Spanish did many acts that we would consider barbaric. But look at it from their perspective. They were extremely religious back then. The Inquisition was in full force. Anyone who looked different or acted different was not considered to be human and thus, you could do with them what you will. Remember, sanctity of life only mattered if you were of the same religion. A backwards way of thinking, but that was in the past.

These people were virtually prehistoric; no tribe had metal, the wheel (yes, something as simple as that), a written language, an understanding of even the simplest chemistry, or other necessities which were developed in Europe a couple thousand years before. Theirs was a truly savage world, hunting for food on a constant basis. People living into their thirties for the most part; having endured disease, starvation, and incredible hardship; none of which make you either noble or strong. It plain kills you.

IMHO opinion you should most certainly rent it. I'm not the artsy fartsy type but it's beautifully shot and the locations are breathtaking. The performances are excellent and I agree with an earlier posters description of the atmosphere.

Good guys may not finish last but they sure as sh*t don't finish first!
