This movie is so much better than the first movie!

I remember pretty well when I was a kid everyone loved the TMNT 1987 series.

Then the first TMNT movie came in 1990 and it was so goddamn boring. It was dark, humorless and rather uninteresting. Hell like 70% of the movie was all of them having to deal with Raphael's lame and ludicrous psycologic problems. What a giant chore. And Raphael is by far the least interesting Turtle for me.

And then comes TMNT 2 and everyone loved the movie! This is so fun, the characters are fun, the setting is excellent and it has an awesome pace as well.

All the atmosphere from TMNT 2 looked similar to the awesome 1987 cartoons.

I can't even believe some people might prefer the awfully boring first movie. The only good part from the first movie was the last battle which was actually violent.

Hahahaha I seriously hope you're joking.

This was such neutered BS compared to the first. Yeah, okay let's have them use sausages and yoyos instead of their weapons. Yeah, okay Shredder will get blasted into oblivion... because of a loud keytar. Yes of course, the great ninja move splinter told them of the mystical music amplifier šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøYeah okay, the epic battle between Super Shredder and the Turtles will amount to...Shredder burying himself in a pier? Yeah okay, glad we got to see Super Shredder for a good 8 seconds.

No, we didn't have to deal with Raphs struggle. Nah instead, let's have Donatellos brooding feeling about needing to feel special. Instead of your badass ally Casey Jones (you know, like the cartoon) we get a whiny douchebag pizza delivery dork.

Give. Me. A. Fucking. Break.

"This was such neutered BS compared to the first"

Exactly. Any trace of Eastman&Laird's influence is absent from all the sequels

reply

The first TMNT is a joke compared to TMNT 2.

reply

Hey blindfolded! Bwahahaahahaahahahahahahah!

YOU seriously are insane! Give me a fucking break! I hope you're joking.!

TMNT is awfully boring! And yes, we have to deal with Raphael psycologic problems!

The movie is a chore to watch!

TMNT 2 is 100000000000 times better!

You're certainly entitled to your complete stupid, idiotic, and flat out wrong opinionšŸ¤£

It's not against the law to be an idiot, so you be you. Enjoy your vanilla ice! Bahahahahahhahaha!

reply

No, TMNT: SOTO is emblematic of all that was asinine about The Early 90s. Vanilla Ice is even in it

reply

Exactly.

I didn't even need bring up Vanilla Ice....That's such low hanging fruit. šŸ¤£

reply

TMNT 2 is million times better than the first boring movie.

Hahahahahahahaha!

reply

Hey Mechajutaro, no.

TMNT 2 is 10000000 times better than the awful first movie.

reply

Well, there are folks who still insist that Joe Rogan's stand-up is funny rather than irritating. There's an audience for everything

reply

I don't know about that but if he's boring then he's pretty similar to the first TMNT.

reply

He's lame enough to be comedy's answer to TMNT II

reply

So he's lame and as awful as the first TMNT movie! :D

reply

I may have thought TMNT 2 was better as a kid but as an adult I prefer the first movie.

reply

I have nostalgia for Secret of the Ooze, so I call it "watchable."

But is a gigantic step down in quality across the board. If people watched it with fresh eyes today, it wouldn't pass.

The first is genuinely a good movie.

reply

TMNT 2 absolutely destroys the first boring movie.

The first genuinely sucks. The second one is geneuinely awesome.

reply

Yes "Secret of the Ooze" is watchable but TmnT 3 is awful.

reply

Hey blue1981, it doesn't matter.

As a kid or adult the second movie is million times better than the first awful movie.

reply

Look, I think they both have merit, but I pretty much agree. I don't know if I can be objective about this film because, childhood memories, but I'll always enjoy TMNT II over the first one. It's camp and goofy, sure, but it's way more fun and it understands that it's for kids and isn't taking a story about talking turtles that can do martial arts seriously, because it shouldn't.

reply

The first one understood it was for kids too and still had a lot more depth. On top of that, it managed to stay true to the source material in tone

reply

The first one was boring and it was only true to the original material, not the most popular material which is the TMNT 1987 TV show.

reply

Respectfully, I disagree, I think the first one was for adults but masqueraded as a kids film, the way Toy Story is really for adults. You can put toys in a movie but still have the movie not be for children, and that's how I've always viewed the first TMNT movie.

reply

Hey everyone, at least he didnt say TMNT 3 was the best one.

I really enjoyed the 2nd movie but its definitely not better than the first. I use to watch both as a kid alot. The 3rd one i didnt care for much at all. Only thing i liked about it was that Casey Jones seemed to be good friends with them all. Id liked to seen him in the 2nd and more of a role in the 3rd

reply

Hey everyone, at least YOU didn't say TMNT 3 was the best one as well!

TMNT 2 is definitely and clearly massively better than the first movie.

The first movie made the Turtles look absolutely boring.
