One part I thought they went too far.
Hannibal's ability to smell creams and colognes that people wore on a different day is really stretching it. I don't care show much of a cannibal he is.

shareI smell something fishy with this post.
Seriously though it never occurred to me that it was an odd ability for him to have and accepted it as an indication of his superior, heightened senses.
I took it that he had heightened senses too but the dude is human. How is that even possible? I could understand it if it was a Bond villain as they're usually strange and quirky, but this movie doesn't give off that tone.
shareI see your point. I guess for me it worked because the audience is supposed to see Hannibal as super-human in a way. Still deplorable and terrifying, but also possessing extraordinary skills that makes it more believable that Starling would seek out his assistance because he is able to sense things the FBI can’t.
sharehave you ever smelled a woman?
shareI couldn't smell her perfume or skin cream days after she stopped wearing it, especially through protective glass with small holes in it.
shareGood point, but those holes allowed others like Miggs to get a good whiff of what was passing, if I remember correctly.
shareOnly Hannibal had the holes. Miggs and the rest had bars. I remember on the special features of the DVD, they said they gave Hannibal that glass in front of him because they didn't want bars to obstruct the view of him the entire movie.
shareYou’re right! Of course, that’s how Clarice got her parting gift from Miggs through the bars 💦
sharehave you ever touched grass?
