I know this is not an Oscar winner but a 6.2? I was surprised to see this rated so low after all these years. This movie is very entertaining and beautiful on screen. Don't be turned away by the low score, watch it and I guarantee you will love it!

I don't know why most comic book movies have such low scores. Superman 2 only has a 6.8! It's crazy!
shareI was ten or eleven when this came out and I absolutely loved it. I wanted to be The Rocketeer for Halloween, but the costume just wasn't feasible at the time. I downloaded it several months ago and still think it's a really fun movie. I give it about a seven as it's an enjoyable Saturday Matinee serial. It does what it does very well much in the same way The Shadow did which is another sort of Saturday serial that is just too much fun to watch.

That said, this is actually a very good film that is supremely entertaining, beautifully directed, well-paced, well-acted, and it just delivers in every possible way. And, it has a young Jennifer Connelly...

it's not a masterpiece, it doesn't have fantastic and innovative direction or writing or acting. the rating is appropriate. i rated it 7/10 myself, and saw it in theaters when it was released.
