Michael Mann-esque?
I wonder if Michael Mann liked this movie?
I know the extremely talented Kathryn Bigelow directed, but it felt like something right up his alley.

I like Michael Mann a lot—he’s brilliant. But Point Break had none of his signature elements, like for example….lots of night scenes in LA…a dark blue color pallet….the use of eclectic songs to set the tone of a scene….strategic use of Moby….stylized fashion and expensive suits….intense dialogue…..the use of mood music and a driving scene, with stylized scenery (typically a downtown setting), etc…
If anything, Point Break, while still a great movie…is practically the antithesis of a Michael Mann film.
