Nightmares!

I dont know about anyone else, but the opening sequence of this film at the party has to be the most disturbing thing ive ever seen. It was so real, it was almost like a fly-on-the-wall type thing. Perhaps im just too girly, but i really did think it was horrible, i had trouble sleeping for days!

Katy, you're right the opening sequence has to be the most disturbing murder sequence i have ever seen, i felt numb after watching it.

I thought it was just me.... That scene was incredibly disturbing and stuck with me for quite sometime. I've seen the movie again since the first time, but I left the room during that part.... You're not being too girly!

This rivals that scene from HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER, the home invasion sequence. Very visceral, very disturbing, but necessary in order to tell this kind of story properly, without resorting to cheap outs or gimmicks.

It was very disturbing. It seemed like I could feel the terror of the victims. It was very scary, because these people were just minding their own business...where can you be safe if not in your own home? One minute they were laughing, dancing around, joking and having a good time. The next minute they're being terrorized. When Michael Beach's character stabbed that woman that was extremely disturbing because you can tell it hurt! Painful death.

"Me, I want what's coming to me...The world, Chico, and everything in it."

I meant to say "properly", not "probably". My bad.

I think that is the terror of the scene - home invasion.

Someone mentioned HENRY - and that was what I was thinking while watching.

With the video-cam, I thought it may have been a homage to HENRY.

Also, a cop mentions that the killer was playing the recorded video of the people while killing them - "Sick bastard".

yeah I actually almost decided to watch something else after that, I was like...I can't handle much more of this (I'm not usually timid about movies either, thought I was mostly desensitized to violence on-screen) but then I decided to stick it out and I loved the movie. I think it helped the movie, especially to make the viewers dislike the 2 main killers... I felt so bad for those people...they really didn't have to die at all even, especially the first people who weren't even drug dealers (not that all drug dealers deserve to die either, but still)

this film was a nightmare -- of boredom!!!

What the $%*& is a Chinese Downhill?!?

There's nothing "girly" about being afraid of a home invasion, and getting killed while completely vulnerable. It was very realistically acted, and sent chills up my spine as well.

The opening scene shows how a director can show terror without using gratuitious violence as in Hostel or whatever.

Pluto is so calm and methodical about killing people. Being tied up in your home and knowing that you were going to be murdered with a knife is about the worst thing that can happen to you. A truy frightening scene.
