Oliver is so keen to pont the finger at the Deep State that he dismisses any notion of organised crime being involved. It is well known that Attorney General Robert Kennedy was waging war against the Mob, including its involvement with the Teamsters Union. He had also humiliated crime boss Carlos Marcello deporting him from the US. Stone is like those policemen who ignore other potential suspects when it does not match their bias. Any decent book about the Kennedy family will mention that Joseph Kennedy had mob ties going back to Prohibition and he may have used those ties to assist his son during the 1960 Presidential election.

Oliver Stone sees the assassination as a Deep State conspiracy. In his view, the Mafia could not do this. In the film, Jim Garrison dismisses any notion of Mob involvement. Read James Ellroy's novel American Tabloid for an alternative take on Kennedy's murder.

Could the Mob change the parade route, Bill, or eliminate the protection for the President? could the Mob send Oswald to Russia and get him back? Could the Mob get the FBI the CIA, and the Dallas Police to make a mess of the investigation? Could the Mob appoint the Warren Commission to cover it up? could the Mob wreck the autopsy? Could the Mob influence the national media to go to sleep? And since when has the Mob used anything but .38's for hits, up close. The Mob wouldn't have the guts or the power for something of this magnitude. Assassins need payrolls, orders, times, schedules. This was a military-style ambush from start to finish... a coup d'etat with Lyndon Johnson waiting in the wings.

A lot of people had a lot of reasons to get rid of JFK. The problem is we are close to 60 years since the event and anything that is actual evidence points in only one direction - Lee Harvey Oswald.
