They did the same for Heaven's Gate, TGF CODA, Justice League, Revolution, and none are as bad as people claim them to be, the revisions were also an improvement for all of them.
This is far from the worse sequel, imo the 4th and 5th highlander films were really bad but even then, not the worst I've seen.
