When I was a kid I thought that Wayne and Garth had a phone booth time machine based on seeing the Bill and Ted cartoon and assuming they were Wayne and Garth

Which ever can claim to have come first, the reality is they are both very much in the same genre and competing against one another. After all these years I think I would come to the conclusion that I personally like Bill & Ted more the Wayne's World.

Wayne's World was always the poor man's Bill & Ted.
