Maybe I'm reading a little too much into it but I wonder...
... in the film SPOILERS and sorry for SEVERAL SENSITIVE ISSUES AT ONCE, at the end, when Charlie Sheen's character shoots, SEVERAL TIMES, and kills, Sonia Braga's character...
Even if it was sort of in self defence, but since he did it a few times, and not just say once, he could've maybe shot her in the leg and then have her captured, I couldn't help but wonder...
Although at first he joked insensitively (did he even realize that she err, either well yes that r word or that term but basically, sexually, assaulted him and that he didn't want it, or did he think that perhaps Eastwood offered him to her VOLUNTARILY for say HIS RELEASE AND LIFE? And she thought "Well? Why not, let's do it then and I will let you live, although we still want that two million dollars.") to Eastwood's character about that incident with her, but the reason he kind of killed her in cold blood at that airport was as an act of vengeance on his behalf for her sexual assault of him?
And perhaps he also executed her directly because, whether not fully realizing the situation or just being a little stereotypically insensitive or both, he felt BAD later for what he said about the incident to Eastwood's character and ALSO, he felt THANKFUL to him for saving his life when Raul Julia's character blew up that warehouse.
So he kind of felt that yes he owned him one but he also felt sorry and guilty for being insensitive and thought that both her act AND other crimes as well warranted her being shot several times.
So he basically took vengeance on her for her violation of Eastwood's character albeit perhaps in a slightly more "acceptable" and "human" and even semi-defensive way.
Or was it just pure self defence and that maybe his other two shots at her were accidental or he feared that she may release machine gun fire on him?
Yeah, it wasn't totally spelled out but still... Even is she may have been attractive, not to mention, played by a TALENTED ACCLAIMED ACTRESS, but a dangerous even if female villain nonetheless, and I hope I wasn't too insensitive, just curious, incidentally INVOLVED in THOSE aspects and happy to receive convincing and convenient information based on what I saw in this movie.
