I wonder who owns it? They've made a couple of TV series, a couple of films and, I believe, some manga based on her. I'm sure there is more to come if for no other reason than Nikita is a known brand and someone, somewhere, will be happy to squeeze a few more dollars from her.
I hope it's actually Luc Besson and not some corporation that acquired it as part of the original film deals.

It's true that 'young female trained assassin' is a well established meme now, but I still think Nikita stands out because the original film was so good. Possibly this is (yet again) an age related point of view because I remember the impression it made at the time?
