I think they were rescued not long after, maybe even the same day. So they just left it there. Maybe the marines took it with them.
shareI forgot how it was in the 1990 movie, but in the book and 1963 movie, it washed out in the ocean. I know his body just hit the ground rather than going into the ocean (I don't think they even near an ocean in the 1990 movie), but I don't think all that happened in the same day. I suppose they probably just dragged it somewhere. If they left it there, they'd have to walk around it and smell it. Ew.

yea in the 1990 version they were close to the water but not close enough for his body to get washed away...Those kids became pretty sadistic and crazy and I wouldnt be surprised if they resorted to cannibalism...I mean they ate pigs, they called the fat kid piggy, now hes dead...and yea

shareI always thought Jack and his tribe would resort to cannibalism. I agree that Piggy should have been washed off the island. I found that distrubing in the 1963 version.
shareI wondered about cannibalism too. They didn't seem to care how many pigs were there. They just wanted to kill. What if the pigs ran out, due to their carelessness? What if they lost or broke the glasses? They didn't seem to care that they had little skills.
Yeesh! I guess they'd turn gay later, if they survived.

In the 1990 film they presumably left it there, which is good because Piggy’s family will likely want the body for the funeral.
Ralph’s testimony, the adults who witnessed him being hunted, and the two missing kids would hopefully be enough to bring the truth to light and see the likes of Jack and Roger punished for their psychotic treatment of Piggy and Simon.
