What happens if a female enter an all-male picture?

I always have this secret fantasy that I would be the only female in a group of castaways...

That would have created another dimension to the book, and would have made it all the more interesting. Sometimes I wish I could see the characters grow to adulthood on the island.

The 1990s version was shown on my country's free-to-air channel recently, and I became nostalgic on why I have a romance with boy/adventure themes. Other films/books which I like from then to date include 'The Goonies', 'Stand By Me' and more recently 'The Kite Runner'.

I remember it was always more fun to play and hang out with the boys. And I would betray the girls by revealing their juicy secrets to the boys, because that was a way they would let me in their group.

She'd take command, get them organised, stop them fighting, and, like males everywhere, they'd gripe about it. The concept reminds me of the Simpson's episode where the kids were marooned and Lisa took control (I think it was based on LOTF).

Nice in theory, but the way things were going on this island... you would only be used by them and not cherished as the only female.

Interesting thought: What if there were a female, older, teacher for example? I agree with most posts here. Definitely it will be the same outcome, or worse. Being a teacher myself, for that specific age group, I don't believe being older and a female would make any difference to the boys. Like Ralph and Piggy, they will be the obstacle to freedom. To survive, she will have to become a part of the savage group, either as support/sex slave for Jack, or as ringleader even. In a situation like this, not even a full grown man, religious leader, principle will be able to sleep easily with both eyes closed. It is almost like animal farm, in that it can only go one way.
As for this betraying boys... Not really. In all societies there is good elements and bad elements, and then the bandwagon jumpers, so it will go like that. Even a group of only females will eventually reach the same point, or worse, as it is women who kill not out of compassion, but out of clinical reasoning.

Ugh, tomboy-ishness is ridiculous.

To answer your question though, in a totally unrealistis and ridiculous feminazi's/whipped guy's fantasy world, the lone girl would come out on top while the guys die, especially at her hand (hmm, what hideously overrated book/movie saga with a horribly fembot excuse for a lead actress does that sound like?).

In a realistic world, she could survive if she hid and prayed, but would likely get raped and killed.
