Very similiar in production to Jack The Ripper 1988

As the credits and the music at the beginning of this film started rolling, I thought to myself this looks and sounds familiar, and I was right! It's very similar in production to Jack The Ripper that Michael Caine also starred in two years before in 1988 ...

It has the same writer and director, and many of the locations have been used in this that were used in Jack The Ripper as well. Mind you, the younger male extras in Jack The Ripper didn't have late 1980's hair styles as most of them do in Jekyll & Hyde, maybe they didn't have enough wigs! lol

I remember thinking exactly the same when they were first shown. And if I remember rightly, Jekyll & Hyde played some part in Jack the Ripper, like maybe one of the suspects was an actor appearing in a J&H stage production at the time.

You're correct, in Jack The Ripper Armande Assante played the part of a stage actor called Richard Mansfield, and who in turn played the part of Jekyll & Hyde on the theatre stage, coincidence I think not.

Did you also know that Richard Mansfield was a real life actor in Victorian times and he himself did play the part of Jekyll & Hyde on his many theatre tours.

You can check him out here ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Mansfield
