To the OP I would include too "Carnival of Souls" since its theme is of a person who doesn't realize her true state. Just like Jacob Singer in "Jacob's Ladder" True there is no talk of any drug taking legal or otherwise. There is still the theme of not realizing what the truth of their situation is.

How did no one come up with "The Sixth Sense?"

Somebody came up with "Angel Heart" so that's good.

I'd add "The Others" but that always seemed like it was piggy backing "The 6th Sense."

Definitely "Vanilla Sky."
