Why was he dating that brat?

Yes, it was all in his head, or was a quest through hell, or what have you, but that girl he was with was the biggest brat ever in film. Why would anyone date her!

She burned his old pics of his kid, covered him in ice to cure him from being sick?(how does that even work), told him to get up and do something when he was dealing with horrible nightmares and didn't know how to go on. She only cared about herself and how his behavior made her look. She was horrid!

Because she was hot as hell. But really, I don't think it's as cut and dried as you laid it out. Yeah, she had a tinge of demon in her, but remember, that was in Singer's mind anyhow...as was her attractive points. She was a sum total of what he was experiencing in his inner conscience.

But, the guy had a 106 fever for crying out loud. The doctor that she called probably said, "Holy hell, lady! You gotta put him in an ice bath now or he's gonna die!" or something like that. 106 degrees. Think about that.

She burned his pictures because they obviously caused him serious emotional pain. The movie was very clear about how she cared for his welfare, actually and well, you know that she was dynamite in the sack. That part will go a long way...

She definitely did not only care about herself. I'm not sure how you came to see her that way.

But she had great thighs though. Even Chris Cooper in Lone Star ignored the whole half sister aspect and just went for it.

The guy is dying. He is facing his demons. On of them is a pretty woman.

Not sure if it was intentional, but I felt like her character kept shifting between likable and unlikable from one scene to another. She'd go from burning his precious family photos because it annoys her that he has feelings to stroking his head and telling him everything will be all right to threatening to leave him because him being sick is a drag on her and then back to hugging him and telling she's been worried sick about him. Perhaps her identity/personality, too, was part of the shifting realities?
