So literally EVERY family on the block went away for xmas?

I find it strange that apparently the ENTIRE block was away for Christmas ( with the exception of Old Man Marly).

That's an unrealistic coincidence lol

It appears that way. Lots of folks had business elsewhere.

The kids and Heather, who was at college, tried to call their friends in Chicago, and Leslie tried Kate's adress book, I suppose not all of these friends lived next door.
However everytime Kevin went outside to church and shopping there were hundreds of people.

When I was a kid we often went to another relative's House on Christmas since they had more room for everyone. A few days later we would travel to Indiana to visit my dad's side of the family.

It was the good old 1990s. The economy was running strong. Life was simple. So I'll just assume everyone had enough money for a yearly Christmas vacation. Lol
