He would find it really hard to believe that someone actually prefers this sequel of lesser quality over the first two masterpieces.
Yes, my favorite of the three is "The Godfather, Part III" (the best one is probably the first). It's my favorite because I identify with Michael Corleone in this movie whereas I did not in the other two. And the ending is extremely powerful.

I don’t feel that strongly but I do think Part II is overrated (no way is it better than Part I) and Part III is drastically underrated - it’s an excellent conclusion to Michael’s tragic story (the original version, not the bungled ‘Coda’ version)
