This was a good movie!

I too, watched this when I was younger. I don't remember how I found it (probably at Blockbuster) but I had my dad rent it and me and my little brother loved it!
Flash back years later, I'm talking about movies with my new friend (who is now my girlfriend) and we found out that we both saw this movie and loved it! This happened to be one of the first things we had in common. Amazing how something as simple as a movie can bring people together.

Yeah I always loved this movie, I think it's a great family comedy, I don't see what's so awful about it.

reply

Theres nothing awful about this movie. I also loved it when I was younger and I just watched it today for the first time in ages and a lot of the parts that cracked me up back then still cracked me up today. People shouldn't be allowed to give this movie such a low rating just because they can't appreciate good comedy.

Exactly! I'm not gonna fall in love with this movie just cuz it has Bill Cosby in it, I look at other stuff too. It has its moments but overall its just an embarrassment. I think it killed the career of those kids that were in this movie. I saw this on TBS years back and as a kid I liked it. I saw clips of it on youtube recently and couldnt believe how bad it really was. So its for kids. Thats all I gotta say.

I like this movie too! How much money this movie make in theaters? It should've made a lot.

This is one of my favorite movies, i remember i started watched this movie when i was 9 years old when it came out and im now 26 years old. back then i was always watch this move with me eating chips and cheese after getting off the bus from school.

BILL COSBY RULES!!!!!

reply

I don't think it was very good, but it's not as bad as some other films in the bottom 100 for sure, kids really enjoy it, as I did when I first saw it as a child.

reply

maybe you should re-watch it. this time with an open mind. its very funny, and realistic about death and greivence. if more people died, i bet this movie would be good to you, but you can't appreciate death, because its a good movie.

LMBO !!! (Laughing My Butt Off)

Thank you CockPuncher !!! That's what I'm talking about !!!
I laughed so hard my stomach hurt !!!
This is the kind of movie that, if you see it, make sure its from a very far distance, ever so carefully working your way in the opposite direction, making sure it is gone; only then you are safe.

Good one, Bill Cosby...good one.

I just watched this last night and it's none of the things you people say it is. It's just awful. How is this realistic about death or especially greivence? The kids don't even seem to care that their father is dead and the oldest daughter's behavior is downright insane! Yeah, I get that she'd be a little messed up and bitter about both parents being dead, but her priorities wouldn't be nearly out-of-wack as they are. See Roger Ebert's review, it's pure gold and entirely acted. Ugh what a mess.

to whom it may concern:

If a teenager sees this movie and likes it or - Ahem [ insert your own coughing sound ] - loves it, chances are the well informed shouldn't be surprised. After all, it's said the mind of a teenager is not well-developed at all! This is certainly the equivalent as saying they are retarded; think about it, teenagers are not allowed to drive freely before 18 years old [some lawmakers & others want to raise the age limit to the area of 21 years] or smoke/drink before 21 years old for a reason.
I mean come on! The movie is called Ghost Dad! Do you need more to be pointed out to you?
I beg all of you who support this movie to please reconsider your mad reasonings!!!
If a DVD is released for this movie - with all the other great movies that deserve a much needed DVD release - I am going to catch a fit!!!

I didn't think this movie was that bad, but it was one of those corny low-key movies that nobody talks about because it wasn't remarkable.

I remember when this first came out to rent, I wanted to see it so bad...but god, this movie sucked. It was the first time I remember ever wanting to turn something off that I was wanted to see. I will always remember Ghost Dad as the first movie that bored me.
