Who was worse between Joyce or Esmeralda?
As a kid I thought Esmeralda was the worst of the two, I was oblivious to what a bitch/slut Joyce really turned out to be, as an adult I find Joyce to be the worst of the two.

shareEsmeralda was a good person so she really wasnt a "bad guy" type person in the movie. She was right though since Edward was kind of an abomination of mankind/creation and Edward did look demonic/freaky anyway
sharePerspective is key here.
I think some of the neighbours in the film acted more like "abominations" than Edward ever did, which is ironic considering he isn't human, and yet he was so much kinder and more selfless than the majority of them.
But in the eyes of a devoutly Christian woman? Yes, I can see why she thought Edward was demonic.
Definitely Joyce. She was about to s*xually assault Edward!
Esmeralda was definitely a nuisance and was pretty rude to Edward, but I think Joyce is 1000x worse because she took advantage of his kindness and innocence and used it to lure him into that back room for her own sick satisfaction; whereas Esmeralda was so afraid of Edward, she wouldn't go anywhere near him.
Definitely Joyce, she let everyone believe Edward had tried to sexually assault her, when it was her who freaked him out.
She didn’t correct anyone, she even said she knew something was wrong with him from the first time she met him, her actions directly led to the community turning on him. You could even say Jim’s actions were her fault in a way.
