Question about Esmeralda
Why didn't Esmeralda like Edward?
shareShe was a devout Christian and extremely devoted to her faith. Because of the way Edward looks (black hair, black attire, strange-looking overall) I think it's understandable that she assumed he was demonic or satanic in some way, not to mention the scissors for hands.

But other people tend to treat Esmeralda like she was a "bad guy" in the movie. Edward by the way he was in her view, an abomination of mankind/creation where a scientist made Edward. And Edward did end up looking demonic/freaky looking anyway
In one scene where Esmeralda asks the Boggs' if they strayed so far from the path and Edward tries to explain to her that he and the Boggs' weren't sheep, she slowly backs away and tells him not to come near her.

shareEdward might have ended up looking demonic/freaky looking and Esmeralda may hate Edward so much because she thinks he's an abomination of mankind/creation where a scientist made him but he was really a very nice guy. And also when she told Edward not to come near her, what did she think he was gonna do when he approached her?
