AirPhone Plot Hole
When the tower couldn't communicate with any of the planes... why not just call the AirPhone on the plane like John McClane does at the beginning of the movie from a payphone?
shareYea the whole movie is a plot hole. The other airports could have communicated with the planes too. Also when the General lands, he complains to Col Stewart about he had months of planning yet this cop is screwing our plans. The plan only could have worked if there was a massive snowstorm, which would blind the planes in the air. What a coincidence it just so happened the day he was landing, there was a massive snowstorm
shareyes , since they bad guys couldnt choose the day the gerneral was transported thats a de facto plot hole.

Maybe they had a contingency plan for if the weather was fine - like paint the airfield blue to make then think theyre over the sea or something
