Extremely entertaining!

If you forget the prestige of the director and the cast and just watch this as a trashy B home invasion thriller it thoroughly delivers.

It feels like Cimino was making a Grindhouse film, it has the deliberately overblown quality of Tarantino and Rodriguez’s double bill.

Rourke makes a great villain and his dynamic with Mimi Rogers’ hostage matriarch anchors the film, the rest is nuts.

Anthony Hopkins is way overblown and attempts an American accent 10% of the time. Why are actors who can’t get the accent allowed to ‘have a go’??

Kelly Lynch let’s her tits fall out in at least three scenes for no reason 🤣

The tough cop boss bitch is hilarious, some of the worst acting a I’ve seen in a major Hollywood picture, made funnier by her absurd 80’s hair.

The score is ridiculously incongruous and overwrought.

It kept me thoroughly entertained for 100 minutes. The only real letdown was the inexplicable way Rourke just gave up at the end and allowed the injured Hopkins to push him around and toss him down the stairs 🤷🏻‍♂️

Get into the right mindset, ignore the reputation, and this is a great junk food thriller 🍻
