ridiculous movie.. but strangely awesome to watch.

I was a Van Damme fan back in the day but for some reason never came across this movie even though it was around the same time I was a fan.

I watched Undisputed 2 a year ago and I think they may have gotten a few ideas from this movie. Or at least the basic idea and setting of the two movies are the same.

This movie is abit ridiculous if you take the plot seriously (which is why you don't). But if you just watch it without trying to over analyze anything. It's a nice fun movie to watch.

Its a great action movie cause they were smart with it. Before it gets boring, they bring the sandman back, it gives it a supernatural touch because he should be dead. Its like 2 genres in one movie, thats why its so good. Predator does the same thing, its an action movie that turns into a horror movie and ends as a sci fi movie. Its very difficult (IMO) to do that correctly in a movie.

I think it's great fun. Patrick Kilpatrick is such a hoot as The Sandman.

This movie and Sudden Death are two VD movies I often dismiss. I don't find d them very exciting to watch. I just watched this for this first time in 25 years thinking maybe many opinions would change. Nope. It doesn't hold up very well at all. Typical 80s movie.

Not Van Damme's best movie, but pretty solid. You have good fight scenes, especially at the end. The music score was perfect throughout. The bad guy was actually kinda cool just how bizarre he was.

Plus, you get Paco from Bloodsport and Kamel Krifa in this film.

The plot behind why he is at this prison I think is easy to overlook because it's very subtle and barely explained, but I like how Van Damme does detective work throughout.

Watching it for the first time in like 20 years. All I remembered about it was Van Damme in prison fighting cons. But it's actually a pretty engrossing detective story. I think it's actually one of VD's more interesting films in that regard. Would have been cool to revisit this character in another film but I don't think it was very successful.

The film deserves more credit. Interesting story, cool characters and good fights. Very entertaining.
