Why so many recycled jokes?

I love the BttF trilogy but I find myself fast forwarding certain scenes because of the exact same jokes done in each movie. Why did they do this?

To show history repeats itself? Because they didn’t expect people to rewatch the movies so much? Because they thought people would love it?

I feel like part of the reason people dislike III so much is the tired jokes, coupled with the western genre which was also a bit tired.

I love all the callbacks but by III they’re a little played out, still cool though.

III starts well and ends great but the middle is just very meh. A Doc love story just cannot compare to flying cars and dark alternate 1985.

I and II are 10/10 films. III is a decent 7.5

I don’t think a love story is a bad idea. They needed something to end the trilogy, might as well be that.

Insufficiently entertaining, and Doc is better as a loner.
