Just finished watching both seasons

No it hasn't taken me 27 years, I was barely a few months old when it first released, but i've seen the new trailer for the return crop up alot lately on Sky, so thought i'd give the boxsets a dabble.

Glad I did watch it. Don't think it's held up the test of time too well, but it is almost 30 years old. S1 was brilliant, but I did think S2 was far too long, 22 episodes and alot was filler. Was a bit of a mind**** by the end of it.

Kind of sad it's taken so long for it to return, alot of the original cast members have passed away, retired or just look very old.

One should only watch S2 up until they solve Laura Palmer's murder. Once that's out of the why jump ahead to the series finale.

Nadine going back to high school is the kind of schlock even "Full House" would have rejected.

reply

The reason for that is because David Lynch left due to pressure from the studio to solve the mystery (he had wanted to string it out as happens nowadays).

Don't forget to watch the film Fire Walk With Me as it explains what happened up to and including Laura's death.

We've been waiting all these years for your review. At last we have it! Time to revise the book on TP with your reaction, and notify the new media of this info.

I have yet to rewatch the first series before the new series starts. And since it starts today, I have some serious catching up to do. Wish me luck.

And it's an absolute must to also watch Fire Walk With Me to understand Twin Peaks and Laura Palmer and what she went through.

Indeed if I were you I would just watch Season 1, then Season 2 the first episodes until you find out who killed her and the last two episodes of the season and then Fire Walk With Me.

Oh boy, even more work. I'm starting to feel like a marathon runner before the race. lol
Why, oh, why did I neglect watching all this for so long?

im glad u liked it but it had to end. the second half of s2 was a disaster. it turned into a soap opera. godawful. i think the return after 25years is fine. s3 so far is far better than i had anticipated.

There is a reason Season 2 turned out the way it did. It was the network's fault who forced Lynch to reveal the story against his wishes, which is why he left mid-season and it went downhill till then end, when he took over again.
