It's bad, but it's watchable

I saw the first two seasons and first few episodes of season 3 a few years back, and wanted to like the show, but gave up.

Then the last month or so, I thought I'd give it another go & decided to run it in the background, while I'm working.

I've now completed all 9 seasons.

The only character I really enjoyed was Kramer. He was very funny most of the time, and extremely interesting to watch with all his schemes and plans.

Jerry is not funny at all. His humour is extremely dull and bland, and he is forgettable as a character and a funny person and his stand-up was annoying. Having a show named after him and where he plays himself, is quite the narcissist. Jerry's parents were somewhat enjoyable on the odd occasion.

Elaine was good. Julia has a great laugh.

George Costanza was the worst. Whenever he freaked out, or made way more of a situation than he needed to, I cringed so hard, and wanted to turn it off.
I agree with George's coach - Cant-Stand-Zya. George's parents were forgettable.

I enjoyed Newman. Jakie Chiles was hilarious.
The amount of familiar faces in this show was astounding. Basically every episode had a familiar face.

As for the finale. Many people hated the finale, and I understand why. It was a summation of the show, and the antics of the characters. It's really weird, as on two previous occasions, for the 100th episode and for episode 21 and 22 of season 9 they also did a summary of the series. Really strange choice.

How this show ended up winning 10 Emmies is beyond me. Only in Hollywood.
One of the funniest shows of all time ? Give me a break. Cheers and Frasier were way way funnier. Those shows were great.

There were some funny characters here and there, but overall the show is bad.

The whole world is wrong about this show and you're right. Yeah, that's the ticket

I find that logic weird. Bad to me is unwatchable.

Watchable for certain characters, like Kramer and Elaine.

Okay but I still wouldn't watch 9 seasons of a show, I thought was bad.

My wife and I were fans of the show for the first 4 or 5 seasons, then it started to turn very angry, at least for our viewing enjoyment.
I think the two things that made us stop liking the show, (even though we watched to the end hoping it got better again which, for us, it didn't), were first, the episode where George's fiancée dies after licking tainted envelopes and their blase attitude at the hospital, like her death was no big deal.
And when Jerry steals the loaf of bread from the old lady.
Those two things were upsetting for us, and made even worse by the laugh track

Cerebral humor isn't for everyone.

People simply bag on this Finale too much for your own good. The people who made this episode managed to accomplish the hardest thing about it: Getting everyone involved with this thing for the last 9 years to all appear in one episode, no matter where they were, what their schedule is or if they're even alive still and they pulled it off. I just don't know what storyline you wanted because no matter what that could've been, no one still would've been happy?? 🤔
